We first require a free 15 minute phone screen with the parent/social coach and participant to ensure that the group is a good fit. Once this is determined, we schedule the intake appointment completing paperwork and the overall application process which then holds your space for the next course.
Most health care insurance carriers cover a percentage of the cost to the full cost of the PEERS® program. We recommend contacting your insurance to find out what your coverage is. We provide you with the invoices you need to get reimbursed by your insurance carrier.
Yes. We accommodate parents’ involvement but only one consistent parent is required to come each week. Parents sometimes substitute for each other if needed. We discourage this any more than 2 or 3 times for the duration of the program as one consistent coach have shown better outcomes.
We take the time to learn about your social experiences. What your understanding of the program is. How the program works. What your strengths are and what you would like to take away from the program.
Not in most cases. Insurance will pay for the 16-week program which includes the information on bullying and dating.
Yes. We take weekly or monthly payments throughout the program and payment in full. We are willing to work with you on a plan that works for you.
They are often fast paced using a Socratic method of teaching which allows members of the group to identify the social steps or rules. This often works better with young people learning from their peers.
We utilize visual aids, writing steps on the white board to help different types of learners. We also are able to make accommodations to some members to aid in their learning process when possible. Members of the group grow to enjoy each week feeling safe with like minded youth and taking part in the activities that assimilate social gatherings and connections.
Yes. Many youth do not feel comfortable in groups due to a variety of reasons such as social anxiety. We can and do provide private sessions. Just mention this in the phone screen.
We can offer an intern or staff to be the coach which includes up to an hour of coaching each week in between sessions for a nominal extra charge.
Yes. We do provide 1:1 and group sessions in-person or in community settings depending on your fitness goals.
Yes. Our approach is a partnership. We work together towards each persons needs, using their motivators and current interests to achieve their goals.
While there is no requirement to have the full fitness assessment, we strongly recommend one as it allows our trainers to specifically tailor a program to fit your needs. Those who have had the fitness assessment have a higher satisfaction rate and probability of reaching their goals.
